Roommates: Please email david@learningescapes.com with the name of the person you wish to room with should you have a preference. If you wish to share a twin-occupancy room but don't know another participant we will do our best to assign you a roommate. However, if this is not possible, you must be prepared to pay the single supplement. We cannot be responsible for compatibility, so we suggest that you talk on the phone before the trip to be certain that you will get along.

Tour Prices: All tour prices are based on rates (including foreign exchange rates) known at the time of trip posting and expected to be in effect at the time of departure. Prices are subject to increase without notice if such rates change prior to departure. The current trip price will be confirmed at the time of reservation. However, land costs are guaranteed when a trip deposit is received, not including surcharges and any government tax increases. Airfares included as part of air-inclusive tour are guaranteed when we receive full payment, but are subject to fluctuations in airfare taxes. Tour prices are per person, based on double occupancy. Single room supplements are listed where applicable.

Travel Documents: Travel documents including any airline tickets and instructions will be sent to you approximately 7 - 14 days prior to departure (providing full payment has been received). A $15 fee will be charged to provide travel documents earlier than 14 days prior to departure.

Making Your Own Flight Arrangements: If you wish to make any of your own flight arrangements, you may do so at your own risk. A "land-only" traveler is someone who arranges his or her own flights to the first city and from the last city of the tour. Land-only travelers are responsible for arranging their own airport transfers and flights between cities in the tour itinerary. If Learning Escapes or their representative is forced to change the travel program in any way, the traveler will be responsible for altering individual flight plans accordingly, and will be responsible for any costs that result from the changes.

Legal Responsibilities: Your payment of the required reservation deposit constitutes consent to all provisions of the conditions and general information contained herein. No warranties, representations, terms or conditions apply to any travel program unless expressly stated within these Terms & Conditions (or in a letter signed by a Learning Escapes or their representative officer). Each program begins with the takeoff from your chosen departure gateway, and ends upon completion of your return flight. (For those making their own flight arrangements, or requesting flight deviations: 1) the travel program begins upon arrival at the first Learning Escapes or their representative hotel and ends upon departure from the last Learning Escapes or their representative hotel according to the itinerary; 2) flights between cities during your tour are not an official part of the itinerary.) Any issues pertaining to the tour should be addressed first and foremost to the Tour Director while on tour.

Learning Escapes or their representative reserves the right to change or cancel any aspect of a program at any time without notice. Learning Escapes or their representative reserves the right to decline to accept or retain any person as a member of any tour without notice. Learning Escapes or their representative cannot be held responsible for events beyond its control, such as (without limitation) acts of God, war (whether declared or undeclared), terrorist activities, strikes or government restrictions; nor, in the absence of its own negligence, for personal injury, property damage, or loss of earnings, from any event whatsoever caused by persons not controlled by Learning Escapes or their representative, such as (without limitation) the employees of airlines, cruise lines, railways, bus companies and hotels. While we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of our publications, we cannot be held responsible for typographical or printing errors (including prices).

Itinerary Variations: If improvements can be made to programs, or unforeseen circumstances require us to make changes, we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels of equal or greater quality. Learning Escapes or their representative cannot control program changes on cruise tours, as cruise lines reserve the right to make program changes. LE or their representative will make every effort to notify you as early as possible in the event of a change.

Cancellations and Cancellation Fees: Final travel documents, including final airline and hotel itineraries and airline tickets, are Fed Ex'ed to passengers approximately 10 days before departure. Courier services cannot deliver to post office boxes.

In the event of participant cancellation, payments received will be refunded subject to the following conditions:

Trip Deposit: A non-refundable deposit as detailed in the specific trip information per person and per tour is required to hold a seat(s) for you.

Refunds & Cancellations: Cancellations are very costly and usually do not occur in time for resale of the canceled tour. Cancellation notices MUST be received in writing (please do not email). Mail to Learning Escapes, P.O. Box 1902, Germantown, Maryland 20874. Should you cancel your reservation, the following fees will be charged. If you have purchased Cancellation/Interruption Insurance, these cancellation fees may be refunded by the insurance company after your claim has been approved. Upon notifying us of your intent to cancel, you will be given a confirmation number that verifies your cancellation.

Airline tickets are subject to the refund or revision policies of the air carrier. Learning Escapes cannot assume responsibility for any additional costs/fees relating to the issuance and/or cancellation of air tickets or other travel arrangements not made through Learning Escapes.

Learning Escapes or their representative reserve the right to reschedule or cancel a tour with fewer than 20 travelers. In this situation, Learning Escapes may offer travelers a choice: cancellation of tour without any penalties or payment of a small-group supplement. Learning Escapes or their representatives reserve the right to cancel an extension with fewer than 10 travelers.

Learning Escapes Cancellation: FULL refund of all payment(s) should Learning Escapes cancel a trip.

Cancellation Insurance: cancellation insurance is available and a detailed brochure will be sent to all participants who request this information. Please send requests to david@learningescapes.com

Passport: a valid US passport is required to travel to most countries outside of the USA including Canada. It must be valid at the time of departure and return from/to the USA. Please note that if you need a new passport or need to renew one, processing time can take up to 4-6 weeks. If you are not a US citizen a visa may be required. Please contact Carol at david@learningescapes.com for specific information regarding visas.

Learning Escapes reserves the right to increase published trip, cruise rates and air fare supplements without prior notice when necessary because of vendor increases.

Learning Escapes reserves the right to modify or cancel travel trips due to vendor, outfitter, or supplier changes/cancellations, or weather conditions out of our control.

While it is typical that adventure trips, historic and cultural tours, and cruises solicit registrations from both men and women, due to the complexity of the planning,  administration, and nature of trip participant cancellations of these trips and cruises, Learning Escapes cannot gender balance, and gender ratios may change at any time prior to the trip departure.
